Counsellor Cheryl Murray explains how Career Loans microloans and career counselling can help you return to your career of choice!
Internationally trained individuals have plenty of skills to contribute to the Canadian workforce. Unfortunately, many skilled newcomers find themselves working in low-wage survival jobs. Career Loans is making it possible for skilled newcomers to achieve their career goals!
-----About Career Loans-----
The Career Loans program helps internationally trained individuals residing in Alberta and Saskatchewan return to their desired careers. Eligible members can receive free career and financial counselling from our expert counsellors who work exclusively with newcomers in Canada. If interested, eligible members can apply for a micro loan of up to $15,000 that can be used towards training, assessment, accreditation, exams, licensing and membership fees, and any required materials.
Launched in 2019, the Career Loans program is funded by Economic and Social Development Canada (ESDC), and coordinated by Achēv, with our Financial Partner, HSBC.
